At Kuranui

Sporting clay shooting is a thrilling experience demanding concentration, a keen eye and quick reactions. At Kuranui our field provides a range of exciting targets representing a variety of simulated field situations with varying degrees of difficulty.

We recommend the use of our bench equipment to ensure your rifle is sighted in for optimum accuracy before hunting. Jungle lane and running boar provide the ultimate opportunity to sharpen rifle skills for the field.

In the region

Trout Fishing – We have access to some of the best trout fishing New Zealand has to offer and one of the most experienced fishing guides. Type of fishing depends on the season, the weather and time of year but there is always the opportunity to catch a trout (or many!).

Sea Fishing – We can organise a range of sea charters catering for any interest; recreational fishing, big game and diving. Durations of 1 day or several, land based or by boat. All gear can be provided.

Other day activities from Kuranui Lodge include the local thermal tourist attractions and New Zealand farm and cultural shows. Organised tours of Waitomo caves, ‘Lord of the Rings’  filming sites, Huka falls and trout hatchery are available. There's also white water rafting, bungy jumping, Zorb, canoeing, golf (6 local courses), 4WD offroad adventures, parasailing, gliding, jet boating, lake cruises, museums, helicopter and fixed wing flights and magnificent shopping.

We can organise travel and accompanyment to enjoy any of the above exciting activities, either as a break from hunting, or for partners who are interested in other types of New Zealand adventures.
