Kuranui is a picturesque trophy hunting park specializing in big red stags. The North Island of New Zealand, acclaimed for its rugged lush green landscape and majestic podocarp forests, is reflected here. Between bush clad hills clear streams meander. The songs of native birds chorus as the mist rises from the trees in the morning sun. On a clear evening the stars of the southern hemisphere shine brightly overhead and well known constellations are easily seen. Red Stags run freely merging with their natural environment and their roar can be heard echoing around the hillsides from February to May.

Within the Kuranui game reserve Kuranui Lodge is nestled beside the Kuhatahi Stream in an isolated valley.
